How It Works

A Garden gets created.

Someone spots a problem in their community and posts it on FLhour.

Pollinators fund it. A Cultivator works it.

Community members back the Garden financially. A Cultivator shows up, does the work, and documents everything on the FLhour app.

Certificates are minted.

The FLhour certificates are minted to each Pollinator proportionately, and the cultivator is paid for the sale of the certificates.

Beautification is the act of improving the appearance, cleanliness, or usability of a public or shared space. On FLhour, Beautification Gardens cover visible, location-specific work, like cleaning up litter, maintaining green spaces, clearing sidewalks, upkeeping public amenities, and restoring surfaces, where the outcome is immediate, photographable, and undeniably better than before. The block looks better on a Tuesday than it did on a Monday because someone showed up and did something about it.

The FLhour Beautification catalog includes gardens such as lawn care, trash cleanup, and block maintenance.

FLhour doesn't set the price of a certificate. The market does. Cultivators set a floor by stating the rate they'll sell for. Pollinators signal demand by deciding what certificates they're willing to buy. The value of a certificate is determined by the people who believe in the societal attribute it represents.

What makes FLhour different from gig economy platforms?

Gig platforms are labor markets. FLhour is a certificate marketplace. Pollinators aren't hiring anyone; they're buying verified proof that a real community improvement happened. Cultivators aren't taking jobs; they're selling the assets Pollinators want to own. The labor is how certificates get minted, not the product itself.

What is a FLhour Certificate?

A FLhour Certificate is a digital record that represents the societal benefits of 1 hour of human labor. You earn FLhour Certificates completely independent of the actual work performed. This means you can simultaneously improve your community and earn an income stream by selling your certificates on the open market.

Is FLhour an employer?

No. Cultivators are independent workers who set their own rates for the societal benefits they produce. FLhour doesn't assign work or control how it's performed. There is no employer-employee relationship on this platform.

How does funding work?

Any number of Pollinators can contribute any amount toward a Garden's target — fill-the-hat style. Funds are held in escrow until work is validated. Each Pollinator receives a certificate proportional to their share of funding.

Do I have to download the app?

It depends on how you use FLhour. If you're a Pollinator, you don't need the app. You can browse and fund Gardens from any web browser. If you're a Cultivator, the app is essential. It's how you record your work, including logging start and stop times, capturing before and after photos, and confirming your location. That documentation is what triggers certificate minting when your Garden is validated.

Where are my FLhour Certificates held?

FLhour Certificates reside in the FLhour Registry. This is where they are minted and transferred between Cultivators, Pollinators, and other traders. They never leave the registry so there is no way to lose them.

How do I know that I will get paid for my FLhour Certificates?

When a price is agreed to, FLhour has already collected the funds from the buyer. Your account will be credited when you mint your certificate. You can request a check or bank transfer from your FLhour account at FLhour.com

Is FLhour right for me?

If you want to see your neighborhood improve and get credit for making it happen, you're a Pollinator. If you want to earn money doing real, visible community work, you're a Cultivator. If you're a local business looking to build a documented record of community investment, FLhour gives you verified proof that your support produced something real.
